Ammonium chloride is SUBLIMABLE in nature which means it transforms from solid state to liquid state without undergoing the vapour (gaseous) state.

To prove that ammonium chloride is Sublimable it is heated with an inverted funnel whose top is blocked by cotton to collect the vapours and the vapours are then cooled down to obtain precipitate of ammonium chloride on the inner walls of the funnel.

Note : Using glass funnel is advisable so that the precipitate can be viewed easily.
