Answer:
Levittown is often cited as the world's first suburbia. The first Levittown housing development was constructed in Long Island in 1947 after the second World War. It was a popular choice of living, as there existed a housing crisis for returning veterans from WWII who needed a place to stay. It also offered working class families the ability to have their own piece of home away from the densely populated areas of urban life in major cities, which later lead to a migration of families to the suburbs. Most Levittown houses are associated with picket fences, nearly identical houses, and financially comfortable working class families which became propaganda of suburb life as well the American dream.
