QUESTION :

what are 3 mythical elements in the odyssey ?

SOLUTION :

The Odyssey is Homer's epic of Odysseus' 10-year struggle to return home after the Trojan War.

While Odysseus battles mystical creatures and faces the wrath of the gods, his wife Penelope and his son Telemachus stave off suitors vying for Penelope's hand and Ithaca's throne long enough for Odysseus to return.

There are several mythical elements in this story.

I am writing 3 mythical elements based upon their significance.

ITHAKA :

Here, ithaka is a mythical island which symbolizes home. It symbolizes the end of the Journey and the goal of Mythic Trek.

It is something which can not be gained without a fight.

THE SEA :

The sea represents a great man's journey through life with all its victories and heartbreaks.

THE BOW OF ODESSUS :

Tge bow symbolizes the physical superiority of the king.

It also symbolizes the maturity and the character of the king.

The suitors can't come close to stringing it, illustrating the fact that none of them is capable of leading Ithaca.
