The geometrical figures which we draw on paper are 2D....Now imagine it ..like.....you have drawn a rectangle(2D i.e., has length and breadth) and you just imagine that you pull it out of your paper...obviously it will be something like a box (3Di.e., will have length,breadth,and height)........you can imagine 3D figures it will help you to relate 2D figures with 3D.........
Some examples of 3D figures are....cuboid ,cone, sphere,cube,cylinder.
