A number of waste prevention techniques are available, and they are commonly summarized as the so-called 4Rs: reduction, reuse, recycling and recovery.

1.REDUCE:We should reduce the use of materials that are harmful to us.Like:We should use paper bags instead of polethene bags.

2.REUSE:We should reuse things like plastic bags can be used to make decorative things.

3.RECYCLE:We should give waste things (which cannot be decomposed) for recycling.like plastic materials.

4.RECOVER: If there is still waste left over after we have reduced, reused and recycled as much as we can, we can use it to make energy at our energy-from-waste (EfW) facility. This process is known as Recovery.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Refuse

Refuse disposable plastic whenever and wherever possible.

Reuse durable, non-toxic straws, utensils, to-go containers, bottles, bags, and other everyday items.

Recycle what you can’t refuse, reduce or reuse.

Reduce-  limit the number of purchases that you make in the first place.
