a) Atoms are the smallest particle of an element which may or may not have an independent existence. It is the smallest unit or building block of any matter.
b) Protons are positively charged particles found in the nucleus of an atom.
c) Electrons are negatively charged particles which revolves around the nucleus in orbits or shells. The number of electrons is same as that of protons.
d) Neutrons are neutrally charged particles which is found along with the protons.

kvnmurty: electrons - revolve around the nucleus. not atom..
