What is Accessory Reproductive Gland?
Those glands by which substance is secreted and they do not help in the formation of gametes directly but help in the reproduction are known as accessory reproductive gland.
Some points related with seminal vesicle are as follows:-
1. It is formed from wolffian duct of the embryo.
2. Glandular epithelium lines are found inside from which seminal vesicle is secreted.
3. It forms about 60-70% part of the semen.
4. It is lubricating, transparent and jelly like substance.
5. pH is 7.3 means it is slightly alkaline.
6. In this fructose is also found , which act as a fuel for the sperm.
7. In this semen proteins like fibrinogen, prostaglandin, inositol etc. are also present.
