hello friend this is your answer

Bases turn red litmus paper blue. Acids give off H+ (Hydrogen) ions in water; bases give off OH- (Hydroxide) ions in water. Acids generally taste sour due to the sour H+ ion; bases taste bitter due to the OH- ion; but they may have other tastes depending on the other part of the molecule.

Answer:

What are acids?

An acid is any hydrogen-containing substance that is capable of donating a proton (hydrogen ion) to another substance. A base is a molecule or ion able to accept a hydrogen ion from an acid. Acidic substances are usually identified by their sour taste.

Properties of acids :-

Acids taste sour, conduct electricity when dissolved in water, and react with metals to produce hydrogen gas. Certain indicator compounds, such as litmus, can be used to detect acids. Acids turn blue litmus paper red.
