Answer:

acids are proton/hydrogen ion donors

taste sour (recommended not to taste strong acids!)

ph below 7

turn blue litmus red

turn universal indicator red/orange/yellow

reacts with (reactive) metals to form a salt and hydrogen

reacts with bases to form a salt and water

reacts with carbonates to form a salt, CO2 and water

there are two types of acid-

1) weak: partially ionises in solution

ex: ethanoic acid (vinegar)

propanoic acid

hydroiodic acid

etc.

2) strong: completely ionises in solution

ex: hydrochloric acid

sulfuric acid

nitric acid

etc.

hope it helps:)

Acids- a substance with particular chemical properties including turning litmus red, neutralizing alkalis, and dissolving some metals; typically, a corrosive or sour-tasting liquid of this kind.

Examples- lemon, orange, tamarind etc.
