In biology, the active site is the region of an enzyme where substrate molecules bind and undergo a chemical reaction....for example

POTASSIUM PERMANGANATE , NICKEL, PALLADIUM...etc.,

hope it help you...

The sites where the substrate binds to the catalyst in a catalysis reaction is called an active centre it is also called catalytic site.

In most of the substances say catalysts the structure may not be flat but may be three dimensional also.

This active sites consists of residues. These residues form bonds which are temporary with the substrate.
