Adaptations in Polar bears-
- It has two layers of fur that protect it from the extreme cold.
- A thick layer of fat that is called 'blubber' under the skin that insulates the body from heat.
- It has ability to close its nostrils which helps it to stay underwater for long periods.
- It has short ears and tail,this prevents loss of heat from the body.
- It has strong sense of smell that enables to locate its prey.
Adaptations in Penguins-
- Their whute colour at the bottom merges the white snow and the black coloured feathers absorb heat from the sun and keep them warm.
- Their thick skin and a thick layer of fat underneath,keep them warm in the extreme cold climate.
- Their body is stream lined and the feet have webs,enabling them to swim.
- Their ears are very small which prevent heat loss from the body.

Polar bears have a thick layer of fat and fur which protect them from cold and their feet has a pad like thing which prevent their feet from freezing.
Penguins have an almond shape gland which filter salt from water from sea water. They also have thick layer of fur and fat like polar bears.
