Advantages:

Linear voltage output

Works well under a wide temperature range and maintains condensation tolerance

Ideal for long-term application.

Disadvantages:

The distance between the humidity sensor and the signaling circuit is limited and so this restricts its application over large open areas.

Hygrometer is a device that was designed or invented for us to measure the humidity present in the atmosphere, hygrometer is a very useful device which has its fair share of advantages and disadvantages.

The advantages of hygrometer are:

  • It helps us to measure the humidity that is present in the atmosphere.
  • Capacitive Humidity Detector hygrometer provides linear voltage output.
  • Electronic Humidity Sensor is resistant to chemical vapours.

The disadvantages of  hygrometer are:

  • The readings recorded by the dry-hair hygrometer is magnified if the humidity changes rapidly.
  • The thermometer has to be kept clean for it to give us the exact count of humidity.
  • High sensitivity to fast changes in humidity will limit its use in 'extreme enivironment'.
  • In dry-hair hygrometer continuous tension will lead to damage in hair samples.
