Explanation:

Advantages.... 1- They do not shrink. 2- They are quick drying and need very little or no ironing. 3- They last longer as compared the fabrics made from natural fibres. Disadvantages... 1- Synthetic fibres do not absorb water or sweat. In hot and humid weather therefore the clothes made of synthetic fibre stick to the body and make the wearer uncomfortable. 2- Synthetic fibres melt and burn easily. 3- Synthetic fibres on catching fire shrink forming beads which stick to the skin. Therefore it is not advisable to use clothes made from synthetic fibres while working near flam/fire, such as,in kitchen. 4- Synthetic fibres are nonbiodegradable . Therefore they cause soil pollution.

Answer:

Q1.) What are the advantages and disadvantages of artificial fibre?

Answer:- Advantages of Artificial Fibre are:-

1) Most synthetic fibres have good elasticity.

2) Most fabrics made of synthetic fibres do not wrinkle easily.

3) Fabrics made of synthetic fibres are generally more durable, less expensive, and more readily available than those made of natural fibres.

4) Most synthetic fibres can handle heavy loads without breaking.

2) Disadvantages of Synthetic Fibres are:-

¡) Mono-fibres do not trap air pockets like cotton and thus provide poor insulation.

ii) Synthetic fibres burn more rapidly than natural fibres.

iii)Prone to heat damage like damage by hot washing.

iv)Melt relatively easily.

v) More electrostatic charge is generated by rubbing than with natural fibres.

vi) Some consumers claim that textiles made with synthetic fibres are less skin-friendly or may cause discomfort over long periods of wear.

vii) Non-biodegradable or far less biodegradable in comparison to natural fibres.
