There are 2 types of plastics -

  • Thermoplastics- Plastics that can be soften easily on heating and cand be remoulded into new shapes are called thermoplastics. Ex- PVC, teflon etc.

  • Thermosetting plastics- Plastics that don't soften on heating and cannot be reshaped are called thermosetting plastics. Ex-Bakelite, melamine etc.
