⏺  It help in removing the excess water.

⏺  It also helps in temperature regulation by causing a cooling effect due t evaporation of water through the aerial parts.

Disadvantages of Transpiration :-

⏺  Increased rate of transpiration reduces the rate of photosynthesis.

⏺  Water deficit leads to wilting and low growth in plants. No new leaves are formed. Steams and roots lose their meristematic activity.

⏺  It causes fall in metabolism in the plants.
