Alkyl halides are the one that is made up from the exchange of the hydrogen from the halogen group.


These group will include the chlorine, fluorine, iodine and bromine.


However, it will depend upon the substitution of the degree that will be carried out in the halogens.


There are three main alkyl groups – primary, secondary and tertiary.

alkyl halids are more reactive than aryl halids.this is the becase of the partial double bond character between the benzene ring and halogen.futher, in alkyl halids, the greater the stability of carbocation formed the more would be reactivity.thus ,the tertiary halid is more reactive . nitro group which is electron- withdrawing increases the reactivity of aryl halids
