The cross-section of the cylinder is:

  • The horizontal cross-section of the cylinder is a circle and the vertical cross-section of the cylinder is a rectangle.
  • The cross-section lets us see the inside part of an object. There are some popular cross-sections that are conic-section. The cross-section is built by cutting the right cone in different ways. There are four kinds of conic sections that can be used which are, an ellipse, a circle, a hyperbola, and a parabola.
  • We can calculate the area moment of a solid cylinder by using the formula I_X=\frac{\pi r^{4} }{4} =\frac{\pi d^{4} }{64(4)} here, r = radius of the cylinder.
