The triangle chapter of class 10th have been based on the five theorems. In this chapter students shall study about the triangles and it's property in depth . If we look around us we find many things which has a triangular shape . so , it is eventful for us to study it's concept  and use it in our day to day lives to run our life in a smooth way .

1) Basic Proportionality theorem

If line is drawn parallel to one side of a triangle intersecting the other two sides , then it divides the other two side in the same ratio .

2) Converse of Basic Proportionality theorem

If a line divides any two sides of a triangle in the same ratio then the line must be parallel to third side .

3)  Pythagoras theorem

In a right -angled triangle the square of hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the square of other two sides .

4) Converse of Pythagoras theorem

In a triangle , if square of one side is equal to the sum of the square of the other two sides , then the angle opposite to the first side is a right angle .

5) Area theorem

The ratio of the areas of two similar triangles is equal to the square of the ratio of their corresponding sides .
