When two lines are parallel and a transversal cuts it, the angles formed on opposite sides of the transversal that crosses the two parallel lines, are called alternate angles.

Here, L ll M and T is the transversal. The angles alternatively equal are:

1 = 7

2 = 8

3 = 5

4 = 6
