Amphoteric oxide :---->Metal whose oxide are react with both acid and base and having both properties too .

Example Al2O3 ,H2O ,ZnO etc

water react with acid

H2O + HNO3 ---------> H3O^+ + No2^-

Water react with base

H2O + NaO ------->. NaOH + OH^-1
