Anti matter is opposite of matter made up of anti particles. When they meet, they cancel out each other. This is similar to maths when +1 and -1 get cancelled. Antimatter matter combination releases high energy photons that is gamma rays. Positron is anti particle of electro. It has mass and same magnitude of charge of an electron but oppostie charge. The amount of the released energy is usually proportional to the total mass of the collided matter and antimatter, in accord with E = mc2
