Anuloma marriage :-

•The inter caste marriage in Vedic age that involves marriage of a guy of higher caste or varna to a girl of lower caste or varna is called Anuloma marriage.

• Higher caste includes Brahmin, Kshatriya and Vaishya marriage to Sudra girl who is a lower caste.

• This kind of marriage is mainly polygamous in nature and was mainly done for dowry.

Pratiloma marriage :-

• The inter caste marriage in Vedic age that involved marriage of a girl of higher caste to someone of lower caste is called Pratiloma marriage.

• This kind of marriage was very much discouraged and resisted at that time.
