Eddy currents (also called Foucault currents) are loops ofelectrical current induced within conductors by a changing magnetic field in the conductor, due to Faraday's law of induction. ... The current flowing through the resistance of the conductor also dissipates energy as heat in the material.

Eddy current , like all electric currents generate heat as well as electromagnetic forces. the electromagnetic forces can be used for leviations , creating, movement, or to give the strong braking effect.

APPLICATIONS OF EDDY CURRENT ARE:-
★ gym equipment:- one of the most common places we may see eddy current at work ,while we are putting ourselves to work.

★ high speed electric trains :- transportation technology has adopted the innovation in eddy current braking to create safer braking system and new high speed railway.
