What are attackable electrodes?
Answers
Attackable Electrodes:- The electrodes which take participation in the electrode reaction are known as attackable electrodes.
Some points on attackable electrodes are as follows:-
1. In the Solution they are made by the help of some reactive metals like Cu, Zn or Ag etc.
2. In this all the metals which are present gets oxidised as because of the corresponding cation.
3. They oxidise usually when they are passed into the solution.
4. So we can say that when the anode gets dissolved obviously the mass of the solution gets decreased.
5. In case the electrode is active in the cathode side then metal present will be depositing in the anode side.
6. That process of deposition metal is known as electroplating.
