YOUR ANSWER⬇
Autotrophs/producers are those organisms which can produce their own food. Plants are known as autotrophs since they make their own food from simple substances like sunlight, carbon dioxide and water. These autotrophs always lie on the base of a food chain since all the other organisms depend directly or indirectly on plants for their survival. Autotrophs can be photoautotrophs or chemoautotrophs. Photoautotrophs use sunlight as their energy source while chemoautotrophs as the name suggests, use chemicals as their energy source. They mainly use electron doners for this purpose.
