The background radiations are the radioactive radiations to which we all are exposed, even in absence of actual radioactive source.
There are 2 sources -1) Internal source- such as Potassium, carbon present inside our body.
2) External source- such as Cosmic rays,radon-222 ,etc.

These include both cosmic radiation and environmental radioactivity from naturally occurring radioactive materials (such as radon and radium), as well as man-made fallout from nuclear weapons testing and nuclear accidents.
