In Belgium the basic reason of tension is due to majority and minority. The French speaking people was more prosperous and powerful than the majority Dutch speaking people. So the most powerful minority of French people declare their language as national language but the majority of Dutch people can't accept it. So there was the linguistics disputes between them.
