Bhangar is the old alluvium soil which occupies the largest part of northern plains. The area in the plains that lie below the flood levels is called kadar. Bhangar is composed of lime nodules which are also called kanker. It has a clayey composition. The khadar is light in colour and consists of newer deposits.
