the bicep is the muscle on the frontal part of your arm between the shoulder and elbow, it is commonly reffered to as a “pulling” muscle as it is most often used when pulling motions. I’m quite confident in guessing that “bi” is latin or ancient greek for 2, indicating that biceps are actually 2 muscles.

Triceps are the one on the opposite side of your arm to the bicep. they are commonly reffered to as a pushing muscle as it is most often activated when pushing. “tri” (three) would indicate that the tricep is formed of 3 muscles

The biceps flex the arm, such as when you lift a child or box. They also help rotate your forearm, such as when you hit a forehand in tennis or turn a doorknob. The triceps work with your back muscles, the latissimus dorsi, to extend your shoulder, such as when you do a pushup or push a door closed.
