✨Biodegradable pollutants are those which are decomposed by micro-organisms such as bacteria, e.g., sewage, cow-dung, discarded vegetables etc.

✨Non-biodegradable pollutants are those which cannot be decomposed by microorganisms e.g., mercury, aluminium, lead, copper, DDT, etc.

✨Domestic wastes (garbage), urine, faecal matter, sewage, agriculture residues, paper, wood, cloth, cattle dung, animal bones, leather, wool, vegetable stuff or plants are biodegradable pollutants.

✨The examples of biodegradable pollutants are: Domestic wastes - Livestock wastes,Human sewage,Faecal matter,Organic matter .

Those pollutants which can be broken down into simpler, harmless, substances in nature by microorganisms are called biodegradable pollutants. Ex: Domestic wastes , urine, faecal matter, sewage, agriculture residues, paper, wood, cloth, cattle dung, animal bones, leather, wool, vegetable stuff or plants are biodegradable pollutants.
