On the basis of molecular weight, organic molecules can be differentiated into two basic types. These are -

Biomicromolecules - These are smaller and simpler than macromolecules. These include simple sugars, amino acids, fatty acids, nucleotides etc.

Biomacromolecules - Biomacromolecules aur heavy and complex type of biomolecules. These include carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, and nucleic acids.
