Components of ecosystem
Ecosystem has two components
1. Abiotic 2. Biotic
1. Abiotic components
Non-living portion of an ecosystem can be divided into three parts :
- Climate, e.g. light, wind, water, temperature, etc.
- Inorganic substance These include various element , e.g. , sulphur, nitrogen, calcium, etc.
- Organic compounds that is carbohydrates, protein, lipids.
2. Biotic components
These include all living organisms on the basis of mode of nutrition, biotics components are of following types
- Autotrophs These including all photosynthesizing plants, these are self food producing member and prepare their food in the prresence of sunlight, chlorophyll, carbon dioxide and water.
- Heterotrophs These including organism, which can not prepare their own food material and they obtain food from autotrophs. These are two types on the nature of food
(a) Herbivores Obtain food from plants
(b) Carnivores Obtain food from various herbivores.
