On the basis of origin, resources are classified in the following way:

1) Biotic resources- The living resources in our ecosystem are termed as biotic resources. For ex- Humans, Plants, Animals etc.

2) Abiotic resources- The non-living resources present in our ecosystem are known as the abiotic resources. For ex- Air, Soil, Wind etc.
