it is the mixture of molecules which keep the of molecule closer to the neutral.
they are very imp as all biochemical processes proceed only When the ph is close to 7

Heyaa folk,

What are buffers ?

A solution which resists changes in pH when acid or alkali is added to it, is called as buffers.
A buffer is a mixture of molecules that acts to keep the pH of a solution close to neutral. Buffers are extremely important to living organisms because all biochemical processes proceed normally only when the pH remains close to 7.

Why they are important ?

Buffer solutions are used as a means of keeping pH at a nearly constant value in a wide variety of chemical applications. In nature, there are many systems that use buffering for pH regulation.

Hope it helps u :)
