There are three equations of motion:
1. V=U+at
2. S=Ut+1/2 at2
3. V2-U2=2as

In circumstances of constant and uniform acceleration, there are simple equations of motion which are usually called SUVAT equations.
This arises from the definitions of kinematic: when displacement (s), initial velocity (u), final velocity (v), acceleration (a), and time (t).
The equations can be applied for any type of motion that can be described as being either a constant velocity motion ie. an acceleration of 0 m/s/s or a uniform acceleration motion.
They can never be used over any time period during which the acceleration is variable.
