Canal rays also known as anode rays . They are discovered by Goldstein . Canal rays are made up of positively charged material known as protons which is 1.6*  10^{-19} . (e/m) = charge to the mass ratio is different for different gases .

canal rays are streams of positive ions in a rarefied gas . They are also called anode rays. They were discovered by Eugen Goldstien in 1886.
