Coal Bed Methane (CBM) is an unconventional form of natural gas found in coal deposits or coal seams.

Extraction requires drilling wells into the coal seams and removing water contained in the seam to reduce hydrostatic pressure and release absorbed (and free) gas out of the coal.

1) CBM : In coal mines, plenty of methane gas remain adsorbed in hard layers of coal. It is called coal-bed methane.

2) METHANE HYRDATE : Methane hydrates are white, ice-like solids inside of which are trapped molecules of methane. In it, the density of methane is very high. It is mainly found in polar regions under the ice and also under the sea level.
