Cephalochordates:

  • Found in shallow sea water

  • Have unpaired fins

  • As their name suggests, they are chordates

  • Notocord is present from head to tail.

  • Nervous system is dorsal, tubular and hollow

  • Pharyngeal gill slits are present

  • Post Anal tail is present

  • Closed vascular system is present.

  • Heart is absent

  • They have protonephridia for excretion

  • They have indirect development

  • Fertilìsation is external
