Answer :

\underline{\mathcal{\red{CFC_S\::}}}

CFC refers to chloro - fluoro carbons. It's harmful material as that release into the atmosphere is the CFCs (CF2CL2). These are generated from fire extinguishers, A.C. & refrigerators .

\underline{\mathcal{\red{DEPLETION\:OF\:OZONE\:LAYER\::}}}

  • Ozone is a molecule, which is formed by three atoms of oxygen. While O2 gas is life caring & needed for all life forms,ozone (O3) is deadly poisonous.However it's helpful for us.
  • At a height of 20 to 26 km above the earth's surface an ozone layer is present. It's about 0.29 cm thick above equator & 0.40 cm at poles .
  • Ozone layer acts as a protective cover or layer as it prevents the UV (ultra - violet) radiations from reaching the earth's surface .
  • The most damaging effect is occur by CFCs (Chloro-fluoro carbons), which produce "active chlorine" (Cl & ClO radicals) in the presence of UV - radiations.These radicals destroy ozone & convert it into oxygen .
