☆ Characteristics of Arthropoda are :-
- These are organisms with jointed appendages
- This is the largest phylum in animals kingdom
- Body bilaterally symmetrical and external segmented
- They have exoskeleton made up of protein and chitin
- They have complete alimentary canal
- Respiration occurs through body surface, gills, trachea
- They have open circulatory system.
- Body cavity is called haemocoel.
- Sexes are separate
- Each segment has paired lateral and jointed appendages
- Example :- Prawn , crab , cockroach, mosquito, spider , house fly etc.
