Answer:

they are the coloured plastids present in the plants. they help in pollination and impart colour to flowers and fruits.

The most important chromoplasts are chloroplasts which contain green pigment, known as chlorophyll. Chloroplasts are the kitchen of the cell and are very important because they trap solar energy and prepare food for all non-green organisms, directly or indirectly.

What is chromoplast?

Chromoplasts are plastids, heterogeneous organelles responsible for pigment synthesis and storage in specific photosynthetic eukaryotes. It is thought that like all other plastids including chloroplasts and leucoplasts they are descended from symbiotic prokaryotes.

Function:-

Chromoplasts function in the synthesis and storage of carotenoid pigments in flowers and fruits, and in certain leaves and roots. The colouration of petals by chromoplasts is an evolutionary strategy adopted by some angiosperms to attract pollinators
