A colloid is a kind of solution in which the size of solute particles is intermidiate between those in true solutions and those in suspensions. Eg. Soap solution

A colloid or a colloidal solution is a heterogeneous mixture in which one substance is displaced as very fine particles having size in the range of 1 to 100 nm , in a continuous medium for another substances.

They are heterogeneous mixture .

Example - Fog , cloud , milk etc.
