A simple machine (or a machine) makes the work easier, faster and more convenient in the following ways.

• By multiplying force: it is very difficult to lift a heavy rock. But it can be easily moved by using a crowbar or hard Steel bar. Thus we can do more work with lesser force(or effort)
• Permitting to apply a force in a convenient direction: machines allow us to apply force in a convenient direction. For example, lifting a heavy stone/ Rock directly is back breaking. The same stone/rock can be easily lifted with the help of a pulley. Pulling up a bucket of water directly from a well is difficult. The use of simple pulley makes it easier by changing the direction of pulling from upwards to downward at certain angle.
• By per meeting to apply force at a convenient point:While fixing A Screw the force is applied at the handle of the screwdriver but It Act on the head of the screw. You cannot fix up a screw by applying force directly on the head of the screw.
