What are composite numbers in terms of mathematics?

composite numbers are those which have more than 2 factors

As 4=2×1×2
6=2×3×1 therefore these are composite numbers

but 5 is not composite
As 5=5×1 has only two factors

remember 1 is neither composite nor prime number
