  1. Complex Sentence= It is a type of sentence made by more than one clause (independent and one or more dependent clause). For eg= When Ria showed her painting to her mom, she ws surprised.
  2. Compound sentence = It is a type of sentence that is made up of two independent clauses and are joined by words such as though, and, or, nor etc. For eg. = Samantha was determined not to give up so she participated in the competition.
  3. Simple sentence = It is a type of sentence that only have one clause. For eg. = The competition was to be held at Harman's school.
  4. Dependent clause = It is a type of clause that does not express a complete idea and needs help of independent clause to make complete sense. It is also called Subordinate clause. For eg= Till he was nine, Oscar Wilde was educated at home. Here, till he was nine is dependent clause.
  5. Independent clause = It is a type of clause that express a complete thought and can stand alone. It contains a verb and a subject. It is also called Main clause. For Eg. = Through Sam worked quite hard, he often like to appear idle. Here he often like to appear idle is an independent clause.
