Compounds havA chemical compound is a chemical substance composed of many identical molecules composed of atoms from more than one element held together by chemical bonds. A molecule consisting of atoms of only one element is therefore not a compounde physical and chemical properties that help us identify them. A physical property is a characteristic that can be observed or measured. In this lesson, we looked at some of the more common physical properties of compounds, including color, odor, melting point and boiling point.
