There are seven types of connective tissues found in the body of people. These are:

Location of Connective tissue:-
Connective tissue is found in between other tissues everywhere in the body, including the nervous system. In the central nervous system, the three outer membranes (the meninges) that envelop the brain and spinal cord are composed of connective tissue.
Structure of Connective tissue:-
Connective tissue is made up of a few cells present in the intercellular framework of protein fibres secreted by the cells, known as collagen or elastin. The cells also secrete a thin gel of polysaccharides, which together with fibres make matrix or ground substance.
Functions of Connective tissue:-
- Binding and supporting.
- Protecting.
- Insulating.
- Storing reserve fuel.
- Transporting substances within the body.
