1. Elections, passing a bill, taking any decision in democracy requires involvement of many people and a lot of time is wasted. Therefore democracy is considerably slow.

Across the globe the democratic set up face the following challenges-

1. Foundational Chalange of democracy -
It involves bringing down the current non-democratic regime, keeping military away and establishing a sovereign and functional state.

2. Challenge of expansion of democracy -
It involves applications of different democratic principles at regional, social, institutional levels.
Empowering local governments and units of federation. Also, inclusion of women and minority groups.

3. Deepening of democracy -
Almost every democracy faces this challenge. It involves strengthening of the institutions and practices of democracy. The participation of people is must for the deepening of democracy.

Examples - In our neighbourhood, the Country of Pakistan had to face military coups.
