Nouns can be either countable or uncountable.

Countable nouns (or count nouns) are those that refer to something that can be counted. They have both singular and plural forms.

e.g -

  • a dozen bananas
  • 5 kg rice

here, we have a fixed quantity of a particular thing, that is why, these are called countable noun.

Whereas, uncountable noun is used when the quantity is not fixed, i.e we can't count it.

e.g -

  • hair on our head
  • stars in the sky

hope u got it!!
