Electron flows on the circuit and flow of electron is opposite to flow of conventional current. Current flows from positive to negative while electron flows opposite. Just like marbles are filled up in a pipe, you push one at one end and one pop outs at other. Conventional current is rather assumed current.

Answer:

The particles that carry charge through wires in a circuit are mobile electrons. ... As such, an early convention for the direction of an electric current was established to be in the direction that positive charges would move. The convention has stuck and is still used today.
